The Holy Truth
Genesis 1:26–27 tells us that you are made in the image of God. This truth means you are not an accident, nor are you worthless. You carry the very imprint of your Creator. Tselem means a reflection. Your life is designed to mirror the God who made you.
Jewish Scholars Taught
The rabbis taught: "Beloved is man, for he was created in the image of God.” Every person, even the one we might overlook, bears this image. To harm another is to dishonor God; to love another is to honor Him.
Fulfillment in Christ
Christ is called “the image of the invisible God” (Colossians 1:15). To see Jesus is to see the perfect reflection of the Father. Though sin has marred God's image in us, Christ restores it. Through Him, we are renewed into the likeness of our Creator.
Living as God's Image Today
· See yourself with dignity. Psalm 139:14 says you are fearfully and wonderfully made.
· See others with compassion. The image of God is stamped on everyone you meet.
· Reflect His character. Justice, mercy, love, and holiness should flow through your words and actions.
A Promise of Destiny
Romans 8:29 declares God's plan: to conform us to the image of His Son. One day, the image of God in you will shine in full, complete clarity, unmarred by sin. That is your destiny in Christ.
Reflection and Prayer
Prayer: "Lord, thank You for making me in Your image. Help me see Your likeness in myself and in others. Transform me daily into the image of Christ. Amen.”
